Home sweet.....ahh stuff it

I am going to sell my house! Maybe not the most intelligent financial decision but I am sick of living like I am 66 instead of 26!
I am going to rent my parents house for a while since neither of them will be living there. It'll be cheap, I can have my pets and I can do whatever I want to the house. When and if they decide to sell it I will get back whatever money I have spent improving it.
I don't think I will be losing much. I suppose the house I have will increase in value but I will have no money in the meanwhile. I am sick of being crippled by a mortgage on a house full of memories I would rather move on from.
It looks like I will move during the next month and sell my house empty, rather than go through the hassle of juggling pets and trying to keep it immaculate for inspections.
I am looking forward to having the money to travel, fix my teeth and generally relax and enjoy myself for a while.
My new job is going well, I haven't been sick since I left the old one and I feel like I have had a huge weight lifted off me as my mum has decided to try something that will make her life easier, and so have I. Things are looking UP (touch wood) after a tough 18 months.
I'll have a busy busy few months ahead, getting the house ready for selling and moving out but I am sure it will be worth it when I can relax and spend money on some more entertaining things later this year.
A fresh start could be just what I need to get myself back on track....

Fancy Footwork

Brace yourself, I bought something for my feet that isn't shoes today!! A miracle. I desperately needed to buy some socks.

I have been taking advantage of boot weather and wearing mismatched socks for weeks. Even to work. Such a professional hey? My shoe to socks ratio would be probably at least 8:1 right now. I am probably being modest on the shoe side there too.

I made the trip into Target and coincidentally there was 30% off socks. There is my lucky break for the month. I bought some three packs of patterned socks. Plain black is just too boring.

I came across the cutting edge in hosiery technology too. Sock/Slipper hybrids. They are basically thick socks with rubbery dots on the bottom so you don't slip over in them. I chose black ones with coloured stripes. The main attraction was each one has a stuffing filled frog face on bridge of the foot (just above the toes). The smiling frog is wearing a crown. Did I mention I my general elegance and devotion to style?

Now I when I stare at my feet I have a smiley Frog Prince staring back up to brighten my mood! What more could a girl want??? Ribbit....

A girls best friend

I have been learning about diamonds (oooooh shiny) and gold this week. I have tried to spend as little time as possible in the shop drooling on the cabinets.
My staff are... Interesting. I will leave it at that for now. My boss, I haven't even seen since I started. Not that I am complaining.
Tonight I went out for dinner with K, N and C. It was good fun. N and I went to High School together so we remember each others most humiliating moments. Things that were horrifying then are hilarious now.
We were giggling over our teenage 'I am SO not talking to you' arguments. We would crack the shits with each other, move our desks a foot apart and proceed to make it as obvious as possible that we did NOT intend to back down and talk. Usually about 5 mins would pass before N would forget and start babbling away to me. I would throw in the mature 'thought you weren't talking to me' and she would reply 'i'm not' and stick her nose in the air. 2 mins would pass before she's go 'So, anyway' and continue her story. Needless to say our 'fights' didn't last long.
C, N and I sat in my car singing Ring Ring Ring (hey, how u doing? sorry you cant get thru) while poor K trotted off to night shift.
My throat hurts from squealing and my stomach aches from laughing. Good times.

Take this job and....

Well... I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!! Yay me. Tomorrow I have the fun task of resigning from my current position. Am deciding on how to phrase it. I shall lay out the options:

JERRY MAGUIRE STYLE
'Who's with me?'

OFFICE SPACE STYLE
'I don't think I'm going to go anymore'

SIENFELD STYLE
'It's not you, it's me'

SEX AND THE CITY STYLE
'I'm sorry. I can't. Don't hate me' (on a post -it)

ACE VENTURA STYLE
'If I'm not back in 5 minutes, just wait longer'

ROMEO AND JUILET STYLE
'Parting is such sweet sorrow' (or in this case, just sweet)

SCREAM STYLE
'I'll be right ba-aaaaaack'

ARNIE STYLE
'Hasta-lavista baby'

DIE HARD STYLE
'Yippie kie yay - mother fucker'

BABE STYLE
'That'll do pig, that'll do'

and my personal favourite:

SOUTH PARK STYLE
'Screw you guys - I'm going home'

will let you know how it goes. I doubt my boss will be happy but that's tough shit. They should have done more to make sure it was all working out for me. I am mega excited about the new job. I will be managing a jewelry shop. Mmmm shiny things.
Seriously I am looking forward to having my own shop versus a department and some challenging managerial work versus donkey work.
More on that later. For now I am basking in the 'take this job and shove it' fantasies.
